We were walking around the village at about eight, when suddenly we found our stomachs aching for food. Both of us, (Ben&Mark) had seen the new noodle shop that had opened last year. We were impressed with the cool "signage" out front and being in a very cool area we knew we had to try it!(the exclamation point would be soon taken away)
We entered the small shop, and were intrigued with the cool wooden chairs, but found everything else looking quite cheap. From that moment on the experience was a downward spiral. There was no one at the cashier for a while and once she to came take our order she was quite confusing.(However, we are sure she is a nice person.) Still at this point we were expecting the wow factor, if not in the shop itself, then in the food. Our food was ready. We went to the counter and brought back our bowls of udon soup. I(Ben) took my first bite, I was immediately disappointed. My ($8) teriyaki beef udon soup was not satisfying in the least bit. The soup lacked any flavor, the noodles were more ramen(the 30cent noodle packages)like than udon like. Mark's chicken and bok choy udon soup was also tasteless. The chicken was grilled in an American fashion which was okay, but the overall dish was a squander. Obviously this place was not a hit... We love asian cuisine, but this did not please and we should have wok-ed somewhere else.
